What is Beef Stroganoff?
There are a few different variations of beef stroganoff, but it is a meal that combines strips of beef with a creamy sour cream gravy. This slow cooker beef stroganoff gives the sauce a little twist, because it uses cream cheese for creaminess and cream of mushroom soup. Also, the Worcestershire in this recipe gives it an additional kick of flavor.

In order to make the slow cooker beef stroganoff, you will need stew meat, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, and cream cheese. Also, broccoli florets and mashed potato steamers can be used as sides.
How to Prep Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff
If you have never tried prepping your dinners ahead of time, then you should try it with this slow cooker beef stroganoff! There is nothing better than being able to just dump everything into the crockpot. Our meal plans are all designed to be prepped ahead of time, which will save you valuable time during the week!
In order to prep the slow cooker beef stroganoff, first get the stew meat into a zipper bag or container with lid. Also, cut up chuck roast is the perfect alternative to stew meat if you already have that on hand.
Secondly, put the cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, and water in the bag. For those that do not like to buy cream of soups, you can easily make your own! Try this homemade cream of mushroom soup recipe from Culinary Hill.
Lastly just add a little salt and pepper to the bag and seal it up. Now that everything is in the bag, toss it around a little to mix all of that goodness together. Be sure to write the sell by date of your meat on the bag so you know how long you can leave it in the refrigerator.
How to Cook Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff
Once you are ready to make the slow cooker stroganoff, dump the ingredients from the bag into the slow cooker. Then, set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours.
During the last 10 minutes, or so, of cook time, add the cream cheese. For more even melting, cut the cream cheese into cubes and then stir it in.
While the slow cooker beef stroganoff finishes up, steam or roast the broccoli and heat up the mashed potato steamers.

Servings: 4-6 |
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb stew meat
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 T Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 C water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 oz cream cheese
- 16 oz broccoli florets
- 1 bag frozen mashed potato steamer
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients in large zipper bag. Zip to seal and squish around to mix.
- Pour beef mixture into slow cooker. Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours.
- Add 2 ounces of cream cheese last 10 minutes of cook time. Mix well.
- Cook broccoli and mashed potatoes according to package directions.
