Summer is here and that means hungry kids at home all day. To keep the junk food snacking and “there is nothing to eat” whining to a minimum, I make ahead lunches in the summer too.
Here are some ideas. You may need to tweak them to your tastes.
Then bag everything or place in containers with lids and fill the fridge with a week of lunches! I washed and plucked a bunch of grapes and sliced up some oranges. I am not even offering chips this week or that is all they will want to eat.
The muffins are also a good breakfast. Just warm in the microwave for 30 seconds.
I will also make BBQ meatballs in the slow cooker. Just toss them in the slow cooker in the morning with a bottle of BBQ sauce. Cook on high for 3-4 hours.
