How to Prep Ham Potato Asparagus Bake
It’s time to put this ham potato asparagus bake together! To begin with, combine the hash browns, and cubed ham into a large casserole dish.
Secondly, cut the asparagus spears into 2-inch pieces. In case you have not used asparagus much, be sure to cut off the woody ends of the asparagus first and toss them in the trash. Bend one asparagus spear at the end until it breaks. After that, use that as a guide for the others as to how much needs to be cut off.
Once cut, add the asparagus to the dish. Lastly it is time for the yummy creamy sauce that holds the ham potato asparagus bake together! In a small bowl, combine the herbed cream cheese, milk, grated parmesan cheese, and dried tarragon. Once combined, heat the sauce in the microwave until the cream cheese is melted.
While the sauce melts, give the dish a good dose of salt and pepper. Finally, pour all that creamy sauce evenly onto the ham potato asparagus bake. That is all it takes to put this dish together!
How to Cook Ham Potato Asparagus Bake
Once the ham potato asparagus bake is assembled, all you have to do is put it in the oven! Because I don’t like spending an hour and a half in the kitchen every night, one of my favorite things about the 5 Dinners 1 Hour meal plans is that the prep work is done ahead of time! In order to avoid so much time in the kitchen, pick one day to spend an hour and prep your meals ahead of time!
When it is time to cook, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. At this point, if the ham asparagus potato bake has been in the fridge, take it out to let it heat up a bit. This is necessary only if using a glass dish. Then, cook for 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
As soon as the ham asparagus potato bake is finished cooking, add a bit more grated Parmesan cheese (can you ever have too much cheese?).
Dinner is ready! Coupled with a green salad, you have a full meal in about 40 minutes!
