How to Prep Instant Pot Pizza Pasta
This recipe is so easy to prep ahead of time, so that getting it into the Instant Pot will take even less time! To begin, place the Italian sausage in a large zipper bag.
Next, add the onion, and bell pepper to the bag. You can use fresh onion and bell pepper, but buying it already pre-chopped in the frozen section sure does save time!
Now it’s time for the saucy part of the Instant Pot Pizza Pasta! In a separate zipper bag, add the pizza and pasta sauce. If you are out of pizza sauce, you can always substitute more pasta sauce in a pinch.
Lastly, add the pepperoni, garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste. You can either leave the pepperoni whole, or chop it up into smaller pieces.
Zip up that bag and give it a good squish to mix up all of those yummy pizza flavors!
How to Cook Instant Pot Pizza Pasta
When you are ready to cook the Instant Pot Pizza pasta, pull your prepped bags out of the refrigerator and grab your trusty Instant Pot!
First, set the Instant Pot to saute on either medium or high heat. Once hot, add the olive oil and prepped Italian sausage. Cook until Italian sausage is browned. Your kitchen should begin smelling wonderful!
Next, add the prepped sauce ingredients, water, and pasta to the Instant Pot. The Instant Pot will look like it has a lot of liquid in it, but the pasta will absorb most of that extra liquid.
Now it is time for the Instant Pot Pizza Pasta magic! I love how quick the Instant Pot can get dinner ready. Set the valve to seal. Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. When the time is up, go ahead and release the pressure valve (watch yourself; that is one facial you do not want to have!).
To finish it off, add the shredded mozzarella cheese!
Serve the Instant Pot Pizza Pasta with some garlic bread sticks and a salad and you have a complete dinner!
Dinner in just minutes and only one pan dirty – now that is my kind of meal! Be sure to print the recipe at the end of this post!
