Ingredients
Prep
- 32 oz sauerkraut canned or fresh
- 1/2 C frozen chopped onion
- 4 t dried parsley
- 2 t caraway seeds
- 4 C shredded Swiss cheese 1 lb
- 1 lb corned beef thinly sliced
- 1 1/3 C thousand island dressing
- 6 slices rye bread
On Cooking Day
- 1/4 T butter softened
- 1 pkg frozen french fries
Instructions
To Assemble
- In a large bowl mix the first 4 ingredients. Spread mixture in the bottom of a baking dish sprayed with non stick spray.
- Top with half the cheese, half the dressing, and all of the corned beef. Then layer the remaining cheese and dressing. Cover with foil.
- Cube bread and place in a zipper bag.
To Cook
- Melt butter and pour in bag with bread. Shake to coat all bread. Sprinkle bread over casserole.
- Bake uncovered in 375 degree oven for 40 minutes or until heated through and bread cubes are browned.
- Cook french fries according to package directions.
