This one was a huge hit so we decided to share it here. I don’t do a lot of pasta dishes that require you to boil water. Heaven forbid any of us have to stand over a hot steamy pot waiting for it to boil. But I sacrificed the 15 minutes just for you because I wuv you long time.
Ingredients

- Pot roast
- Chopped onion
- Thyme
- Beef broth
- Tomato paste
- Heavy cream
- Flour
- Noodles

How to Prep Slow Cooker Tomato Roast
This is one of those recipes that you can really prepare ahead of time. Then when you are ready to cook it, you just put all the ingredients into the slow cooker and turn it on. Dinner is pretty much served!
Here’s how to prepare this dish and save yourself time.
Put the following ingredients into a zippered plastic bag:
- roast
- onion
- thyme
- beef broth
- tomato paste
Seal it and keep it in the refrigerator until it is time to cook.
How to Cook The Roast and Noodles
When you are ready to make this dish, here’s what you do.
- Open the zippered bag with the roast in it.
- Put the contents of the bag into the slow cooker.
- Mix the cream and flour and add it to the slow cooker during the final 30 minutes of cooking time.
- Boil the noodles.
- Serve the roast on top of the noodles.
That’s it! Dinner is served.
The longer this meat cooks, the more tender it becomes. Melts in your mouth!
Can you make it with other meat?
I realize that sometimes beef roast is pricey. Yes, this recipe works perfectly with other meats too. In fact, try it with pork loin. It turns out amazing.
But if you choose to use chicken breasts, the cooking time will be much lower. You don’t want chicken that is overdone.
Servings: 4-6 |
Ingredients
- 3 pound pot roast any kind
- 1 C frozen chopped onion
- 1 t dried thyme
- 1 1/2 C beef broth
- 1 can tomato paste 6 oz
- 1/3 C heavy cream
- 1/4 C flour
- 1 package pasta any kind
- 6 C salad greens
Instructions
- Add first 5 ingredients to large zipper bag. Zip and squish to mix.
- Pour roast and sauce/marinade into crock. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
- Mix the cream and flour and add to crock last 30 minutes of cook time or 30 minutes before serving.
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Shred roast with 2 forks and serve over pasta with salad on the side.
