Ingredients
Prep
- 1 lb smoked sausage nitrite free
- 1 C shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 C frozen chopped onion
- 1 bag frozen hash browns organic if possible
- 3 T butter
- 2 T arrowroot
- 1/8 t paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
On Cooking Day
- 1 1/2 C milk
- 6 C salad greens
Instructions
To Assemble
- Slice sausage into 1/2-inch slices and add to large bowl with next 3 ingredients.
- Melt butter and mix with next 3 ingredients. Pour over hash brown mixture and mix well.
- Pour ingredients into a casserole dish sprayed with non stick spray. Cover with plastic wrap or foil.
To Cook
- Uncover and pour 1 1/2 cups milk over casserole.
- Bake uncovered at 375 for 35 - 40 minutes or until top begins to brown and sauce is thickened.
- Serve with green salad.
