Ingredients
- 6 lb ground beef
- 1 t garlic powder
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 t onion powder
- 1/2 t pepper

- Place ground beef in a large deep skillet or pot. Season with garlic powder, salt, onion powder and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally and breaking up chunks until ground beef is cooked thoroughly. Drain excess fat. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Once ground beef is cool. Place 3 cups of cooked ground beef in a large zipper bag. Press any excess air out of bag and zip to seal. Freeze until ready to use. If you have space in your freezer you can place cooled ground beef on a large baking sheet in a single layer and freeze for about 1 hour before transferring to large zipper bags.
To Cook
- Thaw ground beef before using. Once thawed used as directed. Best used within 3-4 days after thawing.

Frozen ground beef is best used within 3-4 months. Once cooked ground beef is thawed you can't refreeze it. So if you want to make a casserole to freeze, cook ground beef as directed. Once cooled, prepare casserole as directed using freshly cooked ground beef. Then freeze casserole as directed.
