Monte Cristo Sandwiches - C

Ingredients

Prep
  • 4 C baking mix bisquick
  • 1/2 C butter softened
  • 1 1/3 C milk
  • 1/2 lb deli sliced ham
  • 1/2 lb deli sliced turkey
  • 6 sliced cheddar cheese
On Cooking Day
  • 1 lb fresh fruit any kind
  • 1 jar raspberry preserves optional
  • 2 T powdered sugar optional

Instructions

To Assemble
  1. Mix first 2 ingredients in a large bowl until crumbly. Add milk and blend well. *additional milk may be needed if mixture is too dry. Should be thicker than pancake batter.
  2. Using half mixture, spread a thin layer of mixture in an 7x11 baking pan sprayed with non stick spray.
  3. Layer ham, turkey and cheese over batter. Cover with remaining batter. Spread evenly.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap.
To Cook
  1. Bake uncovered in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Dust sandwiches with powdered sugar and serve with fresh fruit and a side of raspberry preserves if desired.
