Slow Cooked Cincinnati Chili – C
salad and garlic bread

Ingredients

Prep
  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef 90% or better
  • 15 oz kidney beans
  • 16 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 C frozen chopped onion
  • 1 T minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 T chili powder
  • 1 1/2 t cumin
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1 t onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
On Cooking Day
  • 2 1/2 C water
  • 8 oz spaghetti noodles
  • 1 pkg garlic bread
  • 1 1/2 C shredded cheddar cheese
  • 10 C salad greens

Instructions

To Assemble
  1. Add all ingredients to a large zipper bag. Zip and squish to break up the meat.
To Cook
  1. Pour meat mixture into slow cooker along with water. Cook on low for 7-8 hours. Use a potato masher to break up meat if needed.
  2. Boil spaghetti noodles as directed on package. Serve chili over noodles with shredded cheese along side salad and garlic bread.

*ground beef is uncooked and will cook in slow cooker.  may be browned before hand if desired.
