Roasted Garlic Spaghetti – C
salad and texas toast

Ingredients

Prep
  • 2 heads garlic
  • 1 T olive oil
  • salt
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 T grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 T freshly chopped basil for serving
On Cooking Day
  • 10 C salad greens
  • 1 box Texas Toast
  • 16 oz spaghetti noodles
  • 1/2 C butter
  • 1/2 c water

Instructions

To Assemble
  1. Cut the top of garlic, exposing cloves, Drizzle with olive oil and a pinch of salt. Wrap in foil and place in a zipper bag.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to small bowl with lid, shake to mix. Store in refrigerator.
To Cook
  1. Cook garlic pouch in slow cooker on low for about 6 hours until tender. Allow to cool and squeeze garlic out of cloves and mash with a fork.
  2. Cook noodles according to package directions, drain, put noodles back into pot and add butter to melt.
  3. Add in mashed garlic and water and stir until combined. Remove from heat and stir in crushed red pepper flake mix.
  4. Cook Texas toast according to package directions.
  5. Serve with salad.

Alternatively, you can place foil garlic pouches on a baking sheet or in a muffin tin and roast in a 400 degree oven for about 40 minutes until garlic is tender.
