Cheesy Smoked Sausage Casserole -B

Ingredients

Prep
  • 1 lb smoked sausage nitrite free
  • 1 C shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 C frozen chopped onion
  • 1 bag frozen hash browns organic if possible
  • 3 T butter
  • 2 T arrowroot
  • 1/8 t paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
On Cooking Day
  • 1 1/2 C milk
  • 6 C salad greens

On Cooking Day

Directions

To Assemble
  1. Slice sausage into 1/2-inch slices and add to large bowl with next 3 ingredients.
  2. Melt butter and mix with next 3 ingredients. Pour over hash brown mixture and mix well.
  3. Pour ingredients into a casserole dish sprayed with non stick spray. Cover with plastic wrap or foil.
To Cook
  1. Uncover and pour 1 1/2 cups milk over casserole.
  2. Bake uncovered at 375 for 35 – 40 minutes or until top begins to brown and sauce is thickened.
  3. Serve with green salad.
