Beef Lo Mein – C

Ingredients

Prep
  • 1/4 C hot water
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 3 T soy sauce
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 1 lb rib eye or sirloin steak
  • 1 T oil
  • 2 T minced garlic
  • 1 C shredded carrots
  • 1 C diced onion
  • 2 C broccoli florets
On Cooking Day
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 t sesame oil
  • 1 bag frozen edamame

Instructions

To Assemble
  1. In a jar or small bowl with lid, dissolve beef bouillon cube in hot water. Add soy sauce and brown sugar; stir to combine.
  2. Slice steak into thin strips and add to a zipper bag. Add oil and minced garlic to steak.
  3. In a second zipper bag, add shredded carrots and diced onion. Cut broccoli florets into 1 1/2-2 inch pieces and add to the bag.
To Cook
  1. Cook spaghetti per package instructions.
  2. In a large skillet cook beef over medium high to high heat until golden brown. Remove beef from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, saute vegetables for about 3 minutes, or until softened. Add beef back to skillet. Pour in sauce and allow to simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Add drained spaghetti noodles and sesame oil to the skillet, and toss to combine. Prepare edamame per package instructions and serve.
