Summer is here and that means hungry kids at home all day. To keep the junk food snacking and “there is nothing to eat” whining to a minimum, I make ahead lunches in the summer too.
Here are some ideas. You may need to tweak them to your tastes.
Then bag everything or place in containers with lids and fill the fridge with a week of lunches! I washed and plucked a bunch of grapes and sliced up some oranges. I am not even offering chips this week or that is all they will want to eat.
The muffins are also a good breakfast. Just warm in the microwave for 30 seconds.
I will also make BBQ meatballs in the slow cooker. Just toss them in the slow cooker in the morning with a bottle of BBQ sauce. Cook on high for 3-4 hours.

Do you have your summer lunch menu availble to purchase? annielemaster@msn.com
I am working on getting that back up on the site right now. :)
Hey Michelle!
I've been using your menus now for 3 weeks & it has made everything soooo much easier! So glad I found you over at IHeart Organizing!
As always…thanks so much for sharing this and I will totally take advantage of this wisdom. Thanks.
Awesome!! I found you through Iheartorganizing as well and your menu's have made such a huge impact in our life!!! Thank you do much!
Loving the menus Michelle!! Looking forward to being able to purchase the summer lunch menu :D
These look yummy, love that you make them ahead even in the summer. Did you eat the meatballs plain or mix them with anything, will have to try these!!
Thanks for sharing good ideas with us.
Awesome summer lunch ideas. I plan on making my two girls lunches ahead this summer. They will be with my mom, her lunches will be McDonald's everyday if I do not plan ahead. Do you toast the bagels before assembling? My daughter will eat plain bagels, so I may try these sandwich ideas!
@Dawn- I put BBQ sauce in the slow cooker with the meatballs.
I did not toast the bagels because mine like them just like that. I might try it next time just to see what they think. :)
Made the ham and cheese cornbread muffins this weekend. They were a huge hit!!! And they will be the kind of thing we could really “play” with.
