This hearty soup will warm you up on a cold day!
1/2 C. frozen chopped onion
32 oz. chicken broth
1 C. water
30 oz bag frozen cubed hash browns
Mix first 4 ingredients in a large zipper bag. Zip to seal.
Mix 1 C. milk with 3 T flour in a small container with lid.
Store in refrigerator until ready to cook.
To cook. Place bag ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Turn slow cooker to High, add milk/flour and mix well. Cover and cook additional 30 minutes or until soup thickens.
Serve with shredded cheese, real bacon bits and green onions.

Is there a way to make this if you don't have a slow cooker? PS – I love your site!
Michelle,
I've given you an award. Check out this post: http://bisforboycreations.blogspot.com/2010/11/my-first-award.html
Happy Tuesday!

I bet you could simmer it on the stove in a large stockpot for an hour or two.
Crockpots are well worth the investment of $20!! I love mine and use it every week.
Michelle I love your recipes. The ingredients pic appears to be homemade hash??? Are they homemade and if so, how did you prepare them for the freezer to have on hand for this recipe? Thanks
Marcela,
These are frozen OreIda hash browns. :) You would never know the soup was made with frozen hash browns. I tastes like you cut all those potatoes and slaved for hours. :)
