It has been a while since I showed everyone what making 5 dinners in 1 hour does to my kitchen so here it is. Don’t be scared, it is not as bad as you would think. :)
I must warn you, this is a real kitchen with real food and real kitchen tools. This is not a fancy design set where everything is staged to perfection. I am a real cook making real food which is more than obvious when you see the
pictures taken with my iphone because I don’t have a $2,000 camera to use amateur photos below.
Mess up the kitchen once a week or every day? I choose once a week!
I don’t feel like I make any bigger of a mess doing all 5 dinners than if I just do one. Most utensils are reused during the assembly hour. Here is a look at an assembly session mess.
The first thing I do is get all tools out listed on the kitchen tools list. Most of the time I mix things right in the bowl or bag it is going to be stored in.
I mixed this pork chop recipe right in the bag.
This is everything in the sink after I finished assembling meals. I don’t put anything that touched raw meat in the soapy side. I like to just quick rinse the measuring spoons and mixing spatula’s right out of the soapy side so I can reuse them easier.
If I had a helper (funny how everyone seems so busy when it comes to cooking and cleaning) I would probably have them rinse things and have them on a towel ready to use. If you are lucky enough to get helping hands, your hour will be more like 40 minutes!! :)
Here is what 5 dinners ready to refrigerate look like.
Here is 5 dinners fitting on one shelf in my very small fridge.
