I recently did an interview (by email) with someone who uses my plan. I interviewed Elayne. She is married and has 2 daughters ages 13 & 7.
Michelle: How long have you been using “Make 5 dinners in ONE hour plan”?
Elayne: I have been using the “Make 5 Plan” for the past two and a half months.
Michelle: How long does it take you to make all 5 dinners?
Elayne: The first time it took me a little over an hour because I kept forgetting I had already gotten everything out and kept try to go to the pantry or fridge for it. After that I have done the meal prep and clean up in an hour each time.
Michelle: Do your kids like the recipes?
Elayne: My family has really liked the menus. I haven’t had any complaints. I do have a non-broccoli eater, but she will eat around it so no problems. I just encourage her to try it and then we move on. My hubby has enjoyed the change up in recipes. It is nice not to have the same stuff over and over, which is what I tend to do on my own, just make what I know.
Michelle: What is your favorite thing about the plan?
Elayne: I love how this plan fits into our busy schedules and we hardly eat out any more because good food is just a few minutes away. I have two kids and there is an activity of some sort Monday thru Thursday in the evenings, and often on Fridays as well. Now I know what we are having, and don’t feel the pressure or desire to run thru that drive thru. Eating at home saves us time and money and even adds to our family time.
Cooking the meals after they are prepped is so easy even my 13 year old daughter doesn’t mind making dinner in a pinch and has. I also find going to the store easy since I have a list and it is easier to not get side tracked or forget something. One trip to the store, one hour prepping meals and one week of wonderful food with out feeling rushed makes for one happy mom, hubby and kids.
